Here at Winstanley Windows, Robert has been in the Glass & Glazing industry since 1977. Starting as a trainee at a well known Folkestone glass company, after leaving school, he was taught all aspects of the industry from glass cutting to fitting shop fronts. From here he moved to another well known, at the time, uPVC window manufacturing company where he fitted windows, doors and conservatories for over 10 years; during which time he also obtained a City & Guilds in Carpentry. In 1993 Robert set out on his own, initially working for himself, Robert covered the selling, surveying and installation process of the business.
Global warming, is quite literally, a hot topic. We all need to do our part to help reduce Carbon emissions and take responsibility for reducing our impact on the world's natural resources. With the rising cost of fuel, not to mention reducing your carbon footprint, the issue of energy efficiency is an important factor to consider when improving your property.
Thirty five years experience has gone into the development of Stern Fenster's automated window manufacturing plant and glass processing facility, where their extensive range of machinery enables them to manufacture a wide variety of custom designed windows, doors and conservatories. All windows and doors come with double glazed units as standard and if you are not familiar with them you will be surprised at the amount of warmth they keep in and the levels of noise they keep out.Safety and Security are of paramount importance with any new windows and doors.
Conservatories are known to have their origins in the creation of artificially warm climates for plants, such as botanical gardens, glass houses and Orangeries. The construction of elegant Orangeries or Winter Gardens began as early as the start of the seventeenth century. It was Christopher Wren, in 1704, which realised the benefits of what is commonly known as the green house effect.

Wanted a quote for some bi-fold doors, they came out on the set day and measured up and told me I would get the quote, nothing, so I phoned up and was told they would get the quote to me, yet again nothing, like other reviews if you do not want the job or your too busy to quote just tell us there and then. Sadly would not recommend or use them for any work

[Edited to remove one star due to further difficulty communicating with the company, and issues with window frame] Replacement of a broken pane of glass in a first floor sash window. The work was done well and the engineer was quick and professional. The price was also reasonable, coming in at under 100. However dealing with the company was difficult.
The initial assessment was done on 6th April, but I had to telephone to push for my quote three days later. After confirming I'd like to go forward with the work agreed, I was told they'd be in touch once the part and engineer were available. I didn't hear from the company for two weeks, so I contacted them and they informed me in a follow up text that the glass production process had an issue so the glass was delayed.
I asked to be kept fully informed from this time onward. It was a full month from the first assessment before the repair actually took place. Given the cold and poor weather, this is undoubtedly too long, with very little communication. The reluctance of the company to keep me informed made me feel as though I was insignificant as a customer.

Superb from start to finish; Had a window replaced from an old 20yo double glazed unit to a big tilt/turn window to help us get bigger items in and out the house. From email contact through to measuring and installation they were superb. Plus they completed the job in super quick time for us as we were getting a new sofa delivered that we needed to fit through said window! Great staff, great customer service and Robert himself was super helpful.

After 3 attempts of their "professionals" to measure up a patio door it was not third time lucky I am afraid. I know this review will be taken down as it does not speak well of the services of this company but felt I needed to give a review. I know things can happen and mistakes can be made but the same mistake 3 times over was unecessary and very unprofessional. I hope my parents situation will be resolved with great customer care and before Xmas although I don't think it will be now unfortunately!
