Services
Britelite was founded in 1970 by John Baxter and his business partner Arthur Clacy. One of Arthur's favourite adages was 'If we supply the best product at the keenest price, we are sure to succeed' and this policy has stood Britelite in good stead for over 45 years. It's a simple adage, but it helps us remember to focus on what's important: supplying the finest products available at the most competitive price possible. For over 45 years it has been Britelite's policy to be open and honest with every customer.
This service is used to request remedial/guarantee claims through our service department. Once you have submitted your request an email confirmation will be sent to you with further information. During warmer weather, uPVC and Aluminium Windows & Doors will expand, which can make them more difficult to operate.
Britelite's double or triple glazed windows are a fantastic addition to any home. Our products are safe, secure and brilliant at keeping the warmth in. Britelite windows will even add value to your property when the time comes to sell. With an enormous range of colours, styles and sizes to choose from, a Britelite window will perfectly complement your home.
We've been installing high quality doors of all types for decades. Front doors, French doors, patio doors, bi-fold doors - we offer it all and for each you can choose from a range of materials, colours and glass styles to build the door that best suits your home. If you'd like to see our range of door products, visit your nearest show centre or call us to have a design consultant come to see you.

Arrived unable to quote to a basic window that meets regulations. Wanted to upsell Windows with escape opening, even though the rooms these would have been fitted in have direct access to a hallway leading to an exit door! And suprise openers were 200-300 extra each and multiplied with each additional one. Quoted 800-1000 for a basic window, almost 3-4 times the price of buying and fitting yourself.
When this was pointed out, gobbed off about FENSA certification, I stated I didn't need it at that price. He almost screamed at me I did and I then pointed out the option of having the local planning department certificate the installation. Have suffered a previous heart attacks and feel my pulse racing, he was asked to leave the premises! There are other more reputable options, there is another professional body (CETASS) which is not FENSA, which you can self certify their work and you can also get the work certified by the local planning department.
You do not need britelite windows to certify your windows and you really do not need the headache that this guy will bring to your doorstep! He had stated the huge mark up was so they made a profit and to provide the ten year guarantee, I did point that the manufacturer actually guaranteed the units and was basically called a lier. As previously stated it's little wonder my blood pressure went bonkers.
At the ridiculously high markup, which I could possibly understand, if I have been purchasing one unit and not five. Rules for escape windows follow: Fire Escape - summary of Document Part B Ground floor windows: Fire escape windows are required on the ground floor in any habitable room (not a kitchen or bathroom) which does not open into a hall that leads directly to an exit door.
Upper floor windows: On upper floors up to 4.5 meters from ground level, all habitable rooms (not kitchens or bathrooms) must be fitted with fire escape windows, unless the room has direct access to a protected stairway. A fire escape window's openable area should be less than 1100mm from the floor and should open without obstruction to at least 0.33m and at least 450mm high or 450mm wide. If one of the dimensions is at the 450mm minimum then the other dimension will need to be at least 734mm to achieve 0.33m2.

If I could put zero stars I would have. Don't touch them with a barge pole especially if you want brick work done. The builder we had left a double skinned parapet wall open at one end, he didn't have enough capping stones so left insulation exposed to the elements, the same wall was bowed the bottom part of the same wall ties weren't used, the top didn't meet the building line.
None of the 2 parapet walls were parallel. The small window bricked up wasn't parallel with the wall underneath it.none of this would have been noticed if my husband hadn't been in the building trade. Younger customers may have done but we are OAPs Damage was also done to our property which we did notice. Yes the company put it right but took 2 months to do it as we didn't want the original bricklayer to put it right. it still took 2 other people to correct the mess.
The actual glazing work was fine, the plasterer was brilliant did an excellent job and the Electritian was very good and helpful as well but that's it. I certainly wouldn't recommend the company at all

We had windows and doors from Britelite but still have the scaffolding they put up FIVE MONTHS ago. Every time we call Britelite customer services they have promised us they'll arrange for it to be taken away but they never have, they just keep saying the same thing when we call. We called and complained again and were told it was now 'urgent' and they would come on Monday or Tuesday of the following week.
We rearranged everything so that my husband could be at home as the scaffolding is in the back garden and they would need access. After rearranging the school runs etc and waiting at home for two days they still didn't turn up and there was no phone call or any apology so we had to call Britelite AGAIN. We are now having an extention built and the scaffolding is in the way so I have asked the builders to take down the scaffolding and invoice Britelite. We paid a scaffolding charge but are now having to get someone else to remove it. I definitely won't use Britelite again and wouldn't recommend them.

If you would like bi-fold doors of poor construction complemented by appalling levels of aftercare, then look no further. Trying to get the Commercial team to even call you back is like getting blood from a stone, which is sadly necessary given that two visits in less than 12 months have failed to address the issue of the rubber lagging loosely hanging off the bottoms of our doors. Avoid if you value your own time, and trying not to waste it.

I would seriously advise you to avoid using this company. At first the door wouldnt open when the sun hit it directly. Once this was "fixed" ( which was not cheap), we have basically had an engineer round on a weekly basis as it keeps getting stuck and we are unable to open the door. This is a huge fire hazard but they company doesnt care about that.
They reply to emails once a day, so its impossible to get anything resolved quickly and havent called once to explain what they are going to do to resolve this. Ive never known a company to care as little as britelite which is why I would avoid them. We put in a complaint in March and now 3 months later we have the exact same problems. Too add to this, it has now been 6 months and we still dont have a working front door. Honestly the worst company I have ever dealt with. 65 emails back and forth since the 2nd March and just excuses after excuse.
Imagine not having a front door that does not open. They haven't made this a priority and I strongly recommend everyone to look elsewhere. They have even given up sending over engineers, that's how awful their product is. Their own engineer's cant fix it.

I've had all my house done, fitting very good until l found a problem. The front door cassette frame around the glass on my composite door was cracked. Three time they have come out so far twice tried short cut, only putting the outside on leaving old one on the inside. Now third time been waiting over 4 months keep chasing apparently waiting manufacturer's. Last email asked if they stopped making doors if this wasn't available. Email straight back its arrived fitting end of August. Another month Slowly running warranty out.

We have had a large conservatory installed. We have had several teething problems since and as we are under warranty we have had BriteLite back to sort these out but we have not had the teething problems sorted out properly and after three visits we still have an unsightly crack. We emailed and called numerous times and we have had no professional response or full repair to our problem. Very Poor aftercare service. I would not recommend you use this company.

Britelite offered a very professional and helpful service from the survey right through to the final installation. We had a new front door and new French doors fitted. The staff were able to answer all of my questions and the installer did a very good job on the day. I would recommend Britelite for any similar jobs. Service: Door installation

Since installation of doors and windows in July 2020 we have been experiencing faults with the window catches which has left the windows unsecure. Out of seven vent windows we now have a fourth with faults. Also we've had problems with poor workmanship. Two window panes were smashed on fitting and a frame had to be replaced when damaged by a fitter. Contact by emails are not replied to and telephone conversations with the office staff are difficult. We are not happy with the professionalism of this company.

We chose Britelite to replace our windows and conservatory doors as we found the salesman to be helpful, responsive and not pushy. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience didn't match up. The fitters did not arrive on the date booked and I had to chase to find out when they would be coming. To name just a few of the issues we had, some of the windows had the wrong colour handles from what we had ordered, one of the bathroom window panes had the wrong pattern, another window pane was too small and 3 of the panes cracked either on arrival or while being fitted.
The fitters were in a rush to get the work done and were not very careful resulting in the cracked glass and some other damage to our walls. Their attention to health and safety was appalling, highlighted by the fact they incorrectly propped up our conservatory roof with a support that was too high so they had to use this at an angle which we later found out is very dangerous.
When we later complained about this to the Installation Manager, his response was "Well nothing happened"! It took 2 separate follow up visits for Britelite to eventually put the issues right. If you are considering Britelite for any work, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere!
