From first visitation from salesman Liam MacLeod to final installation of our sliding doors by the installation team, we got a A+ service. Liam gave solid professional advice from the off, and that advice led us to idea of sliding doors - which we hadn't even given consideration to until that point. Couldn't have been happier with the result. Less than 5 weeks from first consultation to installation. Delighted. Thanks to the whole team. Will use again without a doubt.

I've given one star as it won't allow me to post with zero stars. Our neighbour had a 'lean to' installed by this company. Not their fault that the weather was wild and windy. However, they could have shown some consideration to us and set their table saw up in a number of more suitable places rather than a few feet from one of our cars, which was parked on our drive.
We let it go for the first few days as it wasn't too bad and just washed the car at the weekend as usual. However, we went out one day last week to find a 'snowstorm ' of sawdust over the car, right down and through to the seals. Obviously not happy about this so we contacted Thistle. We weren't looking for anything other than for the car to be made clean, as it was before they started work next door.
We also accepted that we were going to powerwash the drive to clean the mess made by them. After being made to feel petty, they agreed to have someone come out to clean the car. Been waiting a week now and some of the sawdust has now glued itself to parts of the car so I guess we'll be spending a few hours of our 'valuable' time tomorrow cleaning it again. 'At Thistle we understand that your time is valuable. obviously not!
We won't ever be using this company ourselves or recommending them. Edited to respond: Thank you for your response. I shall be sure to update my review when you follow through on your promise to have our car cleaned. No phone call or offer as yet though.

Excellent quality door, well fitted and delivered earlier than expected! Very happy with the service overall, from sales through to installation. Some small negatives but not enough to drop the rating, such as choice over inserts in glazed door was more limited than prior to agreeing the purchase, as was the requirement to remove a light switch which wasn't highlighted during the sale. that said the door makes up for these small niggles and it was worth the money. Communication with the installation team was also very good, often an area where a company lets themselves down. Only regret - not doing this a couple of years ago!

I don't normally bother completing reviews, but after my fantastic experience with Thistle feel compelled to do so! I got 3 quotes from various well known firms for some window & door replacements and the best and most competitive by far was from Thistle. They also offered to fix some defects in other windows fitted by another supplier years ago who could not be bothered to do so, as well as replace the fascia boards which were needing repair - none of the other firms mentioned this and all for the same price.
The scheduling from Amber was superb - fitting around another firm fixing my flat roof and also helping when I had to change the fitting date at short notice when I was called abroad by my work. The fitting process was very professional and tidy and the quality of the products superb. I can't praise the team highly enough - try them yourselves and I'm sure you won't be disappointed if my experience is typical and I'm sure it is.

Thistle replaced all of my windows and my front door and I was thoroughly impressed from start to finish. I received a few different quotes but decided on Thistle after visiting their showroom and seeing the quality of products for myself. The installers were very quick, polite and most importantly to me left no mess!

Recently had a new front door and several windows installed by Thistle, very happy overall with the work in general. Only slight issue was after installation, one of the internal panes of glass on our living room window had a large crack, however Thistle replaced the entire unit promptly and the new unit had no issues. Very happy and would recommend.

After having a front door fitted we have had several visits to repair leaks and make adjustments. The door and surrounding panel faded badly and were replaced eventually. These replacements were shoddy and a complete mismatch. We now have 3 different shades of rosewood, in high gloss, matt, and a middling gloss. This work is a total disgrace, commented on by neighbours.
We have been trying for 15 months to get this rectified under warranty, which has been totally frustrating and very annoying. We are being stalled and fobbed off by lies from an incompetent director and others. That is when they can be bothered to return the call they promise to make. I was talking to a solicitor today, this is not over yet. My advice: avoid these clowns.

Past history with windows not good but eventually got fixed. Front door been replaced three times and last door fitted last year July time. Window glass got replaced twice and since august last year the glass failed. Been waiting since then for a replacement glass. Still not repaired yet!. Conservatory department fitted one when we did the windows. They have been excellent. Come on Thistle Windows.!

BAD DECISION - BAD CHOICE My mother has been living in her home since it was built in 1965. In 2014 Thistle Windows fitted two new windows. The fitters were messy, untidy and careless damaging the walls as they fitted the windows. We had to get the decorator to repair holes in the walls, repaper and paint. A year later, 2015, a huge crack appeared in one of the windows from the top to the middle. Eventually, someone came and ascertained that the windows were quite wide and had not adjusted properly.
A few more weeks went by until the pane of glass was replaced and frame secured properly. In January 2016 rain poured in both windows upstairs and found its way into mum's recently decorated lounge downstairs. Again, eventually a representative looked at the windows. Scaffolding was erected and it was found that the lead flashing had not been properly installed to stop rain seeping in.
So this was repaired. Or so we thought. The lounge damage was repaired too. Then mum noticed that the ceiling in the vestibule had water marks so she notified the company again. Mum has tried twice to speak to Mr Bruce the Manager but this has proved fruitless. He's always in a 'meeting'. She has spoken to Andrew Cadman who told her it was 'human error' and everyone makes mistakes and that it was a very bad storm which caused the rain to pour in? However, the original windows NEVER leaked and for the 50 years mum has lived there she has witnessed worse storms!
We are really disappointed with Thistle Windows and mum wishes she hadn't bothered replacing the windows in the first place. One rep apologised for the errors and told us if we wanted to complain then we need to write a letter to Mr Bruce. Mum has not been offered any kind of compensation for the errors Thistle Windows have created. This is outrageous and we WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THISTLE WINDOWS TO ANYONE.

Thistle was one of several companies to quote me for a Conservatory and Windows and Doors. While I chose note to proceed with the Conservatory, I decided to go with Thistle to replace all of my windows and my front door. I was happy with the price but visited the showroom to have a look a the quality of the products before going ahead. Jonathan the salesman I was dealing with was also very informative.
I most appreciated the fact that he did not use a pressure-sales approach, unlike the salesman I had from Everest who I had to ask to leave my house! Installation was quick, smooth, decided against the free painter service as I was redecorating the internals of the house anyway, but in hindsight I probably should have taken it up. The new windows and door have made a huge difference, particularly during the recent cold snap. I would very much recommend Thistle and would use them myself in the future if I had any windows or doors left that needed replacing!

Spent 3,000 on a new front door. From day 1 the door leaked. Told them I would not pay the 300 retention until the work was done to satisfactory standard ( job was not fit for purpose a fact acknowledged on site by two of their staff). They refused to come back and fix but after further complaints they sent two people out who confirmed there was a major problem. Told the MD I would pay once the job was completed properly.
He said he would only send someone out to fix the fault when I paid the retention. He claimed this would trigger the guarantee and they would fix under guarantee - how anyone would guarantee a bother job is a mystery ( or fraudulent?). I offered to put the money in the hands of an independent solicitor to be released when the works were done. The MD refused this offer.
Conclusion :- They are not to be trusted Dont deliver a service fit for purpose They are desperate for cash ( take your own conclusions from this!) Summary is please don't risk your cash.

Have to agree with previous post. Totally depends on the fitter you get. Did not carry out any final inspection on our window install upon completion which would have captured all the issues we saw. instead we had to notify company. You may get good installer, but then you might not. Surely its not hard for a company like this to have final inspections on their installs so that any issues can be rectified quickly and efficiently!
